The Observatory on Borderless Higher Education hosted its 2009 Global Forum, 'Global Connections – Local Impacts: Best Practices, Models and Policies for Cross-Border Higher Education’, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-24 October 2009.
Organised by The Observatory and the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, the Global Forum was a highly engaging professional venue where global colleagues actively discussed ideas, strategies and best practices in internationalism and cross-border higher education.
Approximately 175 delegates from 30 countries attended, with participants coming from a geographically disperse range of countries, including Australia, Botswana, China, Germany, Singapore and the UK.
The Global Forum offered delegates a diverse range of concurrent sessions, research sessions, plenary keynotes and panels, and pre- and post-forum seminars. Sessions were highly interactive to engage delegates in creative and thoughtful dialogue about key issues.
