Work underway on new Observatory branch-campus survey report
The Observatory is currently undertaking research into international branch campuses and will produce an updated report in the autumn for our subscribers. Our previous two reports were published in October 2006 and September 2009 and are available under Reports on our website.
For the current exercise we are using a broad definition of a branch campus: a higher education institution that is located in another country from the institution which either originated it or operates it, and which awards a qualification from the originating institution on completion of study. We will include operations that are either operated solely by the home institution for an institution in the host country, or operated through a joint venture or partnership between home and host institutions. We are not including the numerous international twinning arrangements between institutions in different countries that result in joint degrees.
A short online questionnaire will be distributed to key targets on our database. If you wish to check or ensure that your institution is included in the survey report, please drop Alex an e-mail at alex.katsomitros@obhe.ac.uk.
