Title Strengthening cooperation in the quality assurance of cross-border higher education: an introduction to the QACHE project
Author Fabrizio Trifiro’ - UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA)

Abstract

The QACHE (Quality Assurance of Cross-Border Higher Education) project is a multi-agency effort to coordinate and improve the quality assurance of higher education across national borders. This two year initiative, co-financed by the Erasmus Mundus Programme of the European Union and undertaken by a consortium coordinated by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), is nearing its conclusion. The scope is cross-border mobility of study programmes and higher education providers, but excludes student mobility.

This article serves as an introduction to QACHE- rationale, constituents and outputs so far. A follow-up article, at the end of the project, will reflect on final outcomes, community reactions and next steps.
