| Title | A Framework for Quality Assurance in the Development and Delivery of Offshore Programmes in Languages other than English |

Abstract A growing phenomenon in international education is the delivery of programmes in multiple languages. Where a programme originally developed and delivered in one language, is offered offshore in another, it becomes necessary to establish its ‘equivalence’ to the onshore programme on which it is based. This report presents a framework for the development and quality assurance of programmes delivered in a language other than English. The paper includes the findings of research undertaken to inform the development of the framework and the framework itself. While the research was undertaken in the context of Australian universities, the framework scopes the dimensions and processes of the development and quality assurance for any transnational programme, no matter whether the delivery is in English or exclusively or in part through a language other than English. |
